Activities & Internships

 

(1) On-Campus Activities:

◎   Implementation of various programs to enhance Japanese language proficiency,

including the provision of teaching assistants to address students' Japanese language questions and assist students in obtaining Japanese-related certifications.

◎   Organizing Japanese language-related competitions such as reading, speaking, writing, singing,

and drama to foster students' interest in learning Japanese. Hosting Japan-related cultural events during the semester,

such as "Japanese Cultural Festival," "Tea Ceremony Experience," "Yukata Dressing Workshop," and "Japanese Cuisine and Cultural Experience."

(2)   Off-Campus Activities and Internships:

◎   Organizing visits to Japanese companies and providing translation and interpretation services when Japanese schools visit Taiwan.

This allows students to gain insights into the operations of Taiwanese and Japanese businesses and enhances their practical experience.

◎   Engaging in community service at nearby elementary schools, assisting in teaching Japanese,

and facilitating cultural exchange activities to promote understanding and appreciation of Japanese culture.

The head of our department and senior students from our department served as impromptu interpreters and translators during the international exchange between "Pingtung County Datong Senior High School" and "Hiroshima Prefectural Sera High School" from Japan. The event concluded successfully, and Datong High School sent a letter of appreciation to the department head and students, acknowledging their outstanding performance, which greatly contributed to the smooth and successful exchange activities. They also expressed their anticipation for our department's assistance in the coming year!

Our department has signed a "Go for Nihongo, Go for Wednesday" project agreement with Guilaai Elementary School in Pingtung City. Starting from February 13, 95 (2016), students from our department will assist Guilaai Elementary School in extracurricular Japanese language learning activities, fostering mutual exchange between the two schools.

In order to enhance academic and educational exchange with Hyogo University of Teacher Education in Himeji, Japan, and to strengthen international cooperation for mutual understanding, our department has signed an exchange agreement with Hyogo University of Teacher Education. In the future, students pursuing foreign language studies in our department and students enrolled in the Japanese language education program at their university who have completed Japanese teaching methodology courses can undertake internships at the respective institutions.

They have been actively engaging with students from our department and our university, fostering excellent interaction and international exchange.
